About Our Family
As a reputable breeder in Virginia, our extensive experience with Shar-Pei spans decades, although we commenced breeding in 2012. Through years of ownership and research, we acquired comprehensive knowledge of the breed. Prior to our first litter, meticulous research and information gathering ensured optimal preparedness. Our debut litter in 2012 provided invaluable hands-on experience, encompassing countless sleepless nights, emotional highs and lows, and substantial learning. Specializing in toy, miniature, and standard Chinese Shar-Pei puppies in various colors and coats (excluding Merle), our primary objective is producing top-tier, healthy puppies with exemplary temperaments suitable for diverse families. We also aim to provide improvement to the breed by carefully selecting each pairing.
While we don’t claim to be a perfect family, the love and devotion we share with our family and our Shar-Pei is unwavering and genuine. For us, breeding is not merely a commercial venture, but a passionate endeavor that brings our family joy and fulfillment. This pursuit has instilled our children with a sense of responsibility and compassion for animals. We acknowledge and take pride in our lifelong commitment to our puppies, recognizing that they remain our responsibility throughout their lives, even if their new families face challenges in caring for them.
Visiting Us: We frequently receive inquiries from families interested in visiting our residence. Following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, our family made the collective decision to refrain from hosting visitors at our home to ensure our family’s safety and well-being. As breeders of Shar-Pei, our home also serves as a nurturing environment for our children. Over time, we have come to realize that allowing visitors posed multiple safety concerns. We appreciate your understanding and respect for our decision and look forward to providing you with one of our cherished puppies. We offer virtual Facetime sessions with our puppies and can arrange in-person meetings at a public location in Virginia or North Carolina, allowing you to interact with our adult Shar-Pei or puppies over six weeks old. Please note that we do not facilitate meetings with another families reserved puppy. Furthermore, we adhere to a strict policy of not permitting puppies under six weeks old to leave our premises due to disease risks. The health and safety of our puppies remain our top priority.
Do we give back to the community to help: Yes, we donate to Four Suns CSP Rescue and Rehab, and Shar Pei Rescue of Virginia. We have also made donations to our local animal control. We take the welfare of Shar Pei in need very seriously and offer assistance whenever possible. Families have questioned our decision to breed when rescue options exist, and we clarify that Shar Pei rescues may have unknown histories or health concerns, making them unsuitable for households with children and other household pets or those desiring a healthy pet. Our breeding program focuses on providing families with a healthy, adaptable companion that meets their unique needs and lifestyle.
Breeding Rights VS Pet Companions:Our focus is on placing our puppies in stable, loving environments as treasured companions. To prevent unregulated breeding, we supply Limited Registration Papers and execute contractual agreements. We firmly believe experienced professional breeders are best equipped to manage breeding, ensuring the long-term health and viability of our breed. Full AKC Registration is reserved for carefully screened, established breeders, with the understanding that we retain the right to deny or revoke breeding privileges. Our overarching objective is for our puppies to become integral members of loving families, shielded from the risks of commercial breeding farms, pet stores, or shelter relinquishment.
Pricing: The pricing of our puppies varies depending on the quality of each puppy as well as different factors. Our brush coat and Horse coat puppies (excludes Non-Carriers for SPAID) range from $2800-$3300. Our bear coat puppies (excludes Non-Carrier for SPAID) range from $3000-$4500. Our puppies from Non-Carrier SPAID Embark Parents are $3900-$5500 depending on the individual puppy. WE DO GIVE A $200 DISCOUNT FOR RETURNING FAMILIES OR FAMILIES PURCHASING TWO OR MORE PUPPIES unless specified. We do not offer discounts on toy size puppies or guaranteed non carrier puppies. If you refer a friend/family member to us and they purchase a puppy at the same time as you, we will give you an additional $100 off your puppy.
Health: We are high believers that nutrition and diet aide in good health. We recommend that our puppies are to remain on Pawtrees Organic Dog Food as well as an immune building support seasoning. We also recommend for our puppies to remain on Nuvet Plus Wafers or Powder which is also an immune system supporting supplement and so much more. Keeping your puppy on the food and supplements will ensure you keep our health guarantee. This information is all in our Genetic Health Guarantee & Adoption Contract.
Deposits: After you have decided that we are the Shar-Pei breeder for you, you can conveniently place a deposit with PayPal on our website under our “Secure Your Shar-Pei Puppy” page. Deposits are $400 and are non-refundable. Deposits can be transferred to any litter of puppies we have and do not expire. If a family changes their mind on a chosen puppy, we do allow families to transfer their deposit to another puppy if the current puppy is not more than 4 weeks of age. If a family changes their mind after the puppy reaches 4 weeks of age you will forfeit your deposit. If you reserve a puppy that is already 8 weeks or older and change your mind, you will forfeit your deposit. Only the families who have deposits with us will have the ability to reserve available puppies prior to puppies being advertised on our website or our social media pages. If you do not have PayPal, we can also accept deposits via Cash App and Zelle with a $25 processing fee added. If you would like to avoid the $25 processing fee, we can accept your deposit in form of a cashier’s check or personal check mailed to us with tracking.
Payment: You will be given a receipt from our business receipt book at the time of purchase. If you are having your puppy (s) delivered to you with a recommended transporter we will accept a cashiers check or money order made payable to Zealous Blue LLC at the time of delivery. We can also accept cash app or Zelle with an 8 percent electronic processing fee added. If you would like to pay with a credit or debit card we can send you an invoice to complete payment but there will be a 8 percent fee added to the total. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS, thank you for understanding.
Financing- We are often asked if we accept payments for puppies. For your convenience we have partnered with a financing company that can provide you a loan so that you can make payments that are affordable for you. In order to sign up for Afterpay we will need to send you an invoice through square. There is a 8 percent fee added.
Included With Your Puppy: All of our puppies receive their age appropriate puppy vaccines prior to turning 8 weeks old. We strongly feel that this is the best way to ensure that our puppies get their safest start before leaving us. We deworm our puppies several times before 8 weeks of age all provided by us. We also supply each puppy with a Canine Health Record indicating vaccines and deworming’s. The health record will be provided with your puppy’s AKC Papers, Health Guarantee and New Puppy Information sheet when they leave us. Each puppy will also come with 30 days of FREE pet insurance once you register your puppies AKC papers. This insurance can be used on vet exams, illnesses, accidents etc. Contact your vet to see if they accept AKCs insurance. Every puppy will have a vet exam prior to turning eight weeks of age. We are also offering the option to have your new puppy microchipped before he/she leaves us. This is an option and not required, but we do ask that you let us know before your puppy reaches 4 weeks of age if you do not want your puppy to be microchipped, otherwise we will do the microchip. Every puppy goes home with a puppy gift bag just for you and your puppy. Our puppies are also guaranteed with a 4 YEAR Genetic Health Guarantee Contract (unless otherwise specified) INCLUDING COVERING AGAINST SHAR PEI FEVER CANCER and Glaucoma which as everyone knows can be commonly found in the breed. You MUST have your puppy examined within 3 days after you receive your puppy (or unless otherwise discussed) for this contract to be valid & you MUST follow ALL the guidelines in your contract to keep it valid.
Health Testing: Another option that we offer that sets us apart from other Shar-Pei breeders is the option to have your puppy health tested before your puppy leaves us. We are EXTREMELY confident in the health of our dogs and therefore have decided to give this option to all new puppy buyers with peace of mind. If you choose to have your puppy health tested you MUST let us know before your puppy is 3 weeks old and you will be required to pay for all costs of the test, collection, and shipping fees. We do not guarantee that test results will be final before your puppy is 8 weeks old, however if it is not, we do not mind holding your puppy until results are released. If you decide after receiving your puppies health results that you do not want the puppy you will forfeit your deposit as well as the costs associated with the health test.
Socializing: Our puppies are handled daily from birth on. We have 5 children at home who love to handle, spoil, and love your puppy as soon as they are born! This is extremely important to us and ensures everyone that the puppies are exposed to children, other dogs and lots of noises well before they leave our family. This early and continuous socialization guarantees that your puppy will leave our home with the best temperaments to suit any family.
Breeding Standards: Our breeding standards are also set very high. We only breed the healthiest hand selected Shar Pei. We only want to produce the absolute best genetically produced Chinese Shar Pei Puppies possible. We never dual sire a litter, meaning we always know who our puppy’s fathers are and don’t believe in multiple sired litters.
Our Family Becomes Yours: From the moment, you purchase a puppy from us you are a part of our family. We love to keep in touch and have frequent updates on our puppies throughout their lives. We loved them first and hope that we can always be a part of their life.

Discounts are available for families who have already made one of our puppies apart of their family. I also give discounts to new puppy buyers who refer us to other friends or family who also purchases a puppy at the same time.
Delivery: We can meet you at our closest airport (Norfolk International in Virginia) with your puppy if needed. To meet at the airport, we do charge $100 to cover our time, gas and parking. Occasionally we are also available to offer delivery ourselves for a lower price than our ground transporters. We are only able to do this at certain times of the year and if we have more than one family who needs their puppy brought to them and we only provide this service on the east coast.
